Can you believe the first six months of 2021 have already passed us by? How did the time pass so quickly? The question now is whether we are on track to meet the goals and objectives stated in January. Yes, some will argue, but we all know that if we do not conduct a rapid review of what has transpired over the last six months, it will be difficult to re-establish momentum toward accomplishing some of the year's goals.
Now, when I become agitated because I am falling short of my goals for this year, I am reminded of Proverbs 16:3, which states, "Commit your works to the Lord, and your plans will be established" (NASB 1995). Occasionally, plans are designed to change as a result of life events. Life will toss us curveballs, such as a job loss, relocation, health, and so on, and we will become unproductive if we don't have an effective strategy to deal with them. However, God tells us in Proverbs that while it is acceptable to have plans, we must commit them to Him for Him to establish them rather than bring them to fulfillment if it is His desire, not ours.
Regardless of where you are in your reassessment of your 2021 plans, I challenge you to commit the remainder of your year to the Lord and watch what He will do.
