Happy Fall Y’all! The season of pumpkin spice lattes, falling leaves, sweaters, and cooler weather.
Last month we celebrated North Texas Giving Day and it was so nice to be a part of such a huge giving day. Even if we received a little; we love to contribute to other small organizations like ourselves.
We are hopeful that our new plans will allow us to include a handmade contribution to Haitian migrants; who were recently victimized in one of the most recent inhumane incidents at the Mexico border. Our hearts went out to every man, woman and child being mistreated, abused and forgotten. Our first question was, “How can we help these immigrants from both Mexico and Haiti?”
When I look at these inhumane and unfair situations like the cages where children and adults are kept like animals; I look at Jesus and remember that no one should be treated badly because of their demographic, what they look like or where they came from. We all are created in the likeness of God (Jas. 3:9) and He wants us to look at every beggar, refugee, and unfortunate individual as ourselves. The Word of God isn’t just for us to practice among friends and family; but it is good to put it to use for those we do not know, who do not look, live or lament financial safety like some of us do.
The power of Heaven flows when our hearts are connected to Jesus Christ in helping those who can give us nothing in return. Remember God loves a cheerful giver (2 Cor. 9:7).
