ROMANS ROAD TO SALVATION
1
ALL HAVE SINNED
ROMANS 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God.
ROMANS 3:10
There is none righteous, no, not one;
2
CONSEQUENCES OF SIN
ROMANS 6:23
For the wages of sin are death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
3
CHRIST DIED FOR US
ROMANS 5:8
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
4
CONFESS + BELIEVE
ROMANS 10:9-10
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.
5
RESULT OF SALVATION
ROMANS 8:1
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,
ROMANS 5:11
Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.
ROMANS 8:38-39
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
SALVATION PRAYER
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness.
I believe that You died for my sins, and that You rose from the dead. Here and now, I turn from my sins and ask that You come into my life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your name, Amen.
I SAID YES TO CHRIST, WHAT'S NEXT?
Your journey as a follower (disciple) of Jesus Christ has just begun. A newborn baby needs nourishment and care to grow, so you will need to seek God’s Word, the Bible, to learn and grow in your faith. You should also seek out a church (a group of other believers in Jesus Christ) that believes and teaches the unchangeable Word of God. There you find support and encouragement as your faith grows. There will be battles ahead, but you will not have to fight alone. Let us know that you have prayed this prayer and how we can pray for you!
1. Deepening your understanding of faith:
-
Bible Study: We encourage you to read the Bible daily, even if it’s just a few verses. There are many beginner-friendly Bible study plans available online or in bookstores. Lastly, we suggest joining a Bible study group at a local church.
-
Biblically Sound Books and resources: We recommend books and resources that explore Christian faith and practices, written by respected authors or based on scripture.
-
Church sermons and podcasts: Listening to sermons or podcasts, such as Under the Influence of Christ™ by Christian leaders, can provide valuable insights and inspiration.
2. Building a relationship with God:
-
Prayer: Develop a daily prayer life. This can be as simple as talking to God about your day, needs, and feelings.
-
Worship: Attending church services or participating in worship gatherings can be a powerful way to connect with God and other believers.
-
Spending time in nature: Many find it helps them feel closer to God and experience His peace.
3. Connecting with the Christian Community:
-
Church Membership: Consider joining a Bible-based church with community involvement. This can provide a sense of belonging and support on your faith journey.
-
Small Groups: Join a small group within your church. This is a smaller setting where you can connect with other believers on a deeper level and receive mentorship.
-
Serving: Find opportunities to serve others in the church or community. This can be a successful way to put your faith into action and make a difference.
4. Practical steps for living out your faith:
-
Share your faith with others: Share your newfound faith with friends and family, but do so with love and respect, without being pushy.
-
Make healthy choices: Christian principles can guide you towards making positive choices in all aspects of your life, such as your relationships, finances, and health habits.
-
Seek guidance: If you face challenges or have questions, seek advice from a pastor, mentor, or other mature Christian.
Here are some additional tips:
-
Be patient: Growing in faith takes time. Don’t expect yourself to become a mature Christian overnight.
-
Be a good listener: Practice active listening by being a non-judgmental and supportive friend when someone opens up about their current situation.
-
Be flexible: There is no one-size-fits-all approach to following Christ. Find what works best for you.
-
Be yourself: Stay true to yourself and avoid pretending to be someone you’re not. Walk in authenticity in your relationship with other believers and non-believers.
